Where creativity meets conservation

Unique art for rhino conservation and community upliftment.

Rooted in Art. Driven by Conservation. Powered by Community.

Rhinos, Rocks and Daisies is more than a name — it’s a story of resilience, creativity, and hope. Based in the rural communities of Louieville and Sheba in Mpumalanga, we work with talented young local artists who turn their passion for wildlife and art into breathtaking Raku sculptures and expressive sketches.

Every artwork is one-of-a-kind.

Under the guidance of renowned Raku artist Gustav Engelbrecht, these artists are not only developing rare artistic skills — they’re helping protect one of South Africa’s most vulnerable species: the Rhino.

Art with Purpose. Hope in Every Piece.

Beautiful art with a powerful cause

Every artwork is one-of-a-kind. Every sale directly supports the Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary
and helps uplift families and communities affected by poverty and unemployment.

Together, we are shaping futures, one piece of art at a time.

The Heart Behind the Art

At Rhinos, Rocks and Daisies, every piece of art carries a story — a story of passion, perseverance, and hope for a better future. Our artists are young, gifted individuals from the Louieville and Sheba communities in Mpumalanga. Guided by master Raku artist Gustav Engelbrecht, they transform raw earth and simple sketches into powerful, meaningful art.

Each artist brings their own journey and unique voice to their work, with a shared mission:
to protect our precious wildlife and uplift their communities.

Protecting Rhinos, Preserving Hope

At the heart of Rhinos, Rocks and Daisies is a mission bigger than art — it’s about protecting one of South Africa’s most endangered species. We are proud to partner with Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary, the world’s largest rhino orphanage and sanctuary.

This incredible organisation rescues, rehabilitates, and releases orphaned and injured rhinos whose mothers have fallen victim to poaching. Beyond rhino protection, they are deeply committed to conservation education and community upliftment in Mpumalanga.

When you purchase a piece of art from our collection, you’re not only supporting a local artist — you’re giving an orphaned rhino a second chance at life.

The Art of Raku: Painted with Fire

Raku is an ancient Japanese pottery technique that means ‘pleasure and enjoyment’ — and for our artists, it’s exactly that. Every sculpture begins with clay harvested from the earth, shaped by hand, and carefully dried.
Once ready, each piece is glazed and fired in an open flame kiln at extremely high temperatures.
